1925年，在瑞士日內(nèi)瓦召開(kāi)的關(guān)于兒童福利的國(guó)際會(huì)議上提出將6月1日設(shè)為“國(guó)際兒童節(jié)”。至于為什么是6月1日這個(gè)日子并沒(méi)有一個(gè)準(zhǔn)確的答案。一種說(shuō)法認(rèn)為是由于1925年，位于美國(guó)舊金山的中國(guó)總領(lǐng)事將一群中國(guó)孤兒召集在一起慶祝端午節(jié)，而當(dāng)天正好是6月1日。
